Hi, and welcome to my website! My name is K.D. Burrows, and I'm an author, freelance writer, ghostwriter, and editor. Sometimes, I also have day jobs where I train AI systems how to write better and do other AI kinds of things.

Talking or writing about myself is not my favorite thing unless I'm telling a funny story to make someone laugh. Occasionally, I directly express some rare life angst in my writing, but mostly, I hide myself in little pieces of my writing that people have to dig for if they're interested. I suck at self-promotion. I'd much rather get to know other people and hear their stories than talk about myself. But since you're here already, I'll tell you that I write books, short stories, articles, and some humorous stuff when I want to amuse myself and my friends and family. My first book, Bittersharp, is available at Amazon and a bunch of other places (hint, hint - nudge, nudge).

If you decide to read my book (books, very soon!), I would be forever grateful if you left me a lovely review. My new book - a domestic suspense serial killer thriller with plenty of twists and turns - is coming out in December, so stay tuned for more details! My next book is a story about a girl traveling cross country on the Freedom Train in 1976 to get to the music scene in the California canyons, and her daughter retracing her steps forty years later to solve the mystery of her mother's death and who her real father might be.

Included here are some short stories and other stuff you can read if you're interested, and it's all free. I love free stuff, so here's some for you, and we can be "we-love-free-stuff" friends.

When I'm not writing, I like to do art projects and graphic design, cook up new recipes, read (of course), and learn new things. I'm a research geek, a history buff, and both a lover and hater of politics since I live outside of Washington, D.C. and that's what people do here. I have three cats and a husband.  (Not listed in their order of importance.) They keep me company while I work from my home in Virginia.

I'm originally from the Buffalo, N.Y. suburbs, so if you notice a Buffalo Southtowns slant to some of my writing because you're from Buffalo, I'm waving hi to you right now. And sorry about all the snow last winter. (An evergreen statement I'll never have to change.)

Okay, that was pretty exhausting having to talk that much about myself, so thanks for stopping by, and I hope you enjoy the writing you find here.

If you'd like to contact me, you can hit the contact button below, and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Me knowing where all the bodies are buried.

Isn't this a cool picture? It's reminds me of Linda Blair in The Exorcist. If only they'd let me use this as my driver's license picture.
